On October 1st in the Embassy of Russia in Mongolia a press conference of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Mongolia B.A.Govorin took place. The press conference was devoted to the beginning of the traditional month of the Russian-Mongolian friendship. The present month is already the 48th.
An extensive programme of the month of the friendship was presented to the journalists of Mongolian printed word media, radio and TV. The programme includes an inauguration, a big one-person exhibition of works of the Honored Artist of Russia F.S.Torkhov, an exhibition "Book of Russia" of the fund "The Russians abroad", a meeting of graduates of the Leningrad (St.-Petersburg) institutions of higher education, and a complex of actions of the decade "Moscow-Ulan Bator Cooperation".
The scientific part of the programme of the month will be presented by delegations of scientists from the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Siberian branch of the Academy of Sciences of Russia. They will conduct scientific conferences, seminars and round-table discussions in association with Mongolian colleagues.
Art collectives from Buryatia, the Republic of Tatarstan and Baikal territory present the cultural programme. They will perform concert programmes both in RCSC and in some establishments of culture in the capital and in Khentiy aimak of Mongolia.
Days of friendship will take place in the cities of Darhan, Zunhara, Chojr, Baganuur and Undurhaan. The programme of the Days will include reviews-competitions among the schoolchildren studying Russian, seminars for teachers-specialists in Russian philology, meetings of graduates of the Russian institutions of higher education, photo-exhibitions and concert programmes.
A week of Russian cinema with participation of the delegation of the Russian cinematographers will take place in the first decade of November in Ulan Bator. Officially the Month will come to the end with a gala night in the Russian Center of Science and Culture on November 3rd.
