Students from Malaysia in Russia
Every year more and more Malaysian students come to Russia for getting Russian higher education, which is considered in Malaysia qualitative and accessible. Since 2000 more than 1800 Malaysians have entered Russian institutions of higher education; about 400 of them have already graduated from various higher institutions of Russia.
Malaysia is one of the largest in South East Asia market for Russian educational services. Physicians, airmen, navigators and ship builders who have received Russian education, are in demand in Malaysia. Recently Malaysian entrants take considerable interest to the Russian higher schools of oil and gas. The authorities of Malaysia recognize diplomas of a variety of Russian higher educational institutions.
RCSC in Malaysia traditionally works actively on assistance to export of Russian educational services.
New prospects were opened in connection with the beginning of the work of the educational department of RCSC in Kuala Lumpur. The department began to work in October 2008. The new division of the cultural center staffed with competent experts carries out its activity in close cooperation with the well-known firm RAKUS - the general partner of our organization in the field of admission of foreign students in the Russian higher institutions.
In association with RAKUS the educational department of RCSC has developed and realizes a special programme for the target cooperation with upmarket Malaysian colleges and schools, giving them detailed information about possibilities and directions of training in Russian higher educational institutions, distribution of evident materials. Such a work on the maximum coverage of the contingent of potential entrants and approach of Russian educational services to local consumers has to increase the number of Malaysian students in the Russian higher institutions.
Taking part in educational exhibitions in the territory of Malaysia is an important part of activity of the department. In 2008 RCSC in association with RAKUS took part in the organization of two such exhibitions - in March and in June. The next event is planned for January 2009.
