Day of Slavic written language and culture to be marked in Kazan
Day of Slavic written language and culture is held in Russia and some other countries on May 24. The holiday is dated to memory day of saints equal to the apostles brothers Kirill and Methody, enlighteners whose works became the basis of the whole cultural heritage of Slavic peoples.
With the blessing of Kazan Eparchy Archbishop Anastasy, an all-city celebration of the Day of Slavic written language and culture will be organized in Kazan. Divine Liturgy with a praying service for the Saints Kirill and Methody will take place at the Annunciation Cathedral in the Kazan Kremlin. A holiday concert with participation of church and secular choirs, ensembles and performers will be held at Menzhinsky House of Culture, Kazan eparchy press-service informs.
