Leaders of a concert have told about the history of "Dipawali": this day the Hindus light lamps, candles, lanterns, hang out garlands of fires, and arrange salutes and fireworks. All these fires symbolize a victory of Light and Good over the Gloom and Harm. Dipawali is devoted to homing of the tsar-god Rama from voluntary exile after his victory over Ravana - the ten -headed tsar of the demons who have stolen his wife Sita. The Hindus worship to the goddess of happiness, wealth and beauty Lakshmi, whose embodiment was Sita. To sweetheart, they clean the houses carefully, decorate walls and floors with beautiful drawings, and give sweets to each other. Our Indian girls offered guests the national dishes and sweets.
The guests were presented with Indian souvenirs for a long memory about this remarkable holiday.
