"Russian Is Like a Song to Me…"
April 21-24 in the city of Heihe in the Heilongjiang Province of China the First Russian Language Competition for Students in Northeast China and the Amur Region of Russia. The competition was organized by Blagoveschensk Pedagogical University and Heihe University with support provided by the Russkiy Mir Foundation. More than 10 teams from universities in Russia and China (2 from Russia and 8 from China) took part in the event.
The competition included a team welcoming presentation, a presentation competition "The Russia I Love…", Russian song competition and an impromptu competition in Russian. The team from the Institute of Slavic Languages of Harbin Pedagogical University won the top prize. Second place went to Blagoveschensk State Pedagogical University and third place to Heihe University.
A special prize from the Russkiy Mir Foundation went to the team from Daqing Pedagogical Institute for the best presentation of the values of Russkiy Mir. The prize was presented by Sergei Kukharenko, a representative of Blagoveschensk State Pedagogical University.
Individual prizes were also awarded for the best essays on themes related to Russia and Russian culture. The top prize went to Zhang Xiao of Harbin Polytechnic University. The "brain ring" on knowledge of Russian history and culture was claimed by the team from Heihe University.
