Relief for Indian students in Russia

01.11.2012 14:01

India and Russia will soon sign an agreement to facilitate an "equivalence of degrees" allowing recognition by the government for thousands of Indians studying medicine in Russia. Non-medical students, too, will get recognition, said sources after the 18th India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission Meeting chaired by foreign minister S M Krishna and Russian deputy PM Dmitry Rogozin.

"The two sides agreed to recognize students pursuing medical or non-medical courses, including post-graduate, from accredited universities and a formal agreement will be signed soon," said an official.
