Russia and Vietnam to Cooperation on Promotion of Russian Language
The study of the Russian language was an issue of high importance at a discussion between a delegation from Russia's Federation Council, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Information Policy Viktor Kosourov, and members of the National Parliament of Vietnam, the Vietnam Times reports.
The two sides noted that growth in interest in the study of the Russian is stimulated by student exchanges and the opportunity for Vietnamese to study in Russia as well as engaging specialists from Russia in teaching positions in Vietnam. During the meeting future steps were outlined for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in science, education and culture.
The Russian senators also visited the joint Russian-Vietnamese Technology University, a branch of Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language and the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Hanoi.
