On 5 February 2014 the first session of scientific seminar "Mathematics and art: symmetry, structure and beauty" took place in Russian New University (RosNOU).
The purpose of the seminar was to present the research works of scientists and artists harmonized on the joint of mathematic, scientific and artistic arts.
The first guest of the seminar was the DPhil, Professor S.V. Petukhov who made a report on the topic "Projection operators and hypercomplex numbers in matrix genetics and in the problem of inherited biological ensembles"
In his detailed and extremely informative speech lasted more than an hour and a half the speaker covered the issues of the genetic code and matrix performances of the genetic code alphabets.
In the given conception a living creature is regarded through algebraic essence in information basis. The research resulted in the introduction of a new system of multivariate numbers referred to by the scientist as "tensor numbers" that are considered to be generalization of hypercomplex numbers.
This new mathematical notion may stimulate the development of biomechanics representation and biotechnical applications including the system of artificial intellect.
Complicated mathematical instrument of matrix analysis based on the work with Rademacher and Hadamard matrices was accompanied in the report with spiral illustrations of plants and shells as well as animation models of various ways of walking.
The speech caused a vivid interest from the participants who eagerly discussed the statements of the Professor Petukhov's report.
