According to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation, Russia is a democratic federative jural state with a republican form of government.
The Russian Federation owns its State Insignia that present the official differential signs of the state, the description of which is established by law.
The federated structure of the Russian Federation is based on its state integrity, government system unity, delimitation of the competence objects and proxies between the state authorities of the Russian Federation and the state authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation, equality and self-determination of nations of the Russian Federation.
The state language of the Russian Federation on the whole its territory is Russian.
The Russian Federation garantees to all its nations the right for preservation of their native language, arrangement of conditions for its study and development.
The Russian Federation consisits of republics, territories (krais), regions(oblasts), cities of federal significance, autonomous region (oblast), autonomous districts (okrugs) - equal in their rights subjects of the Russian Federation.
The republic (the state) consisting of the Russian Federation owns its constitution and legislation.
The status of republic is determined by the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the constitution of the republic.
Republics have a right to determine their state languages. In state authorities, institutions of local governing, state institutions of republics these languages are used together with the state language of the Russian Federation.
Krais, oblasts, cities of federal significance, autonomous oblast, autonomous okrugs are also the subjects of the Russian Federation.
The status of these subjects is determined by the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the statute of a krai, an oblast, a city of federal significance, an autonomous oblast, autonomous okrug issued by the legislative (representative) body of the appropriate subject of the Russian Federation.
The head of Russia is the President of the Russian Federation. The President is the guarantor of the Constitution and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The President is elected by the citizenry of the Russian Federation for a four-year term.
From March 2000 the President of the Russian Federation is Vladimir V. Putin.
The legislative and representative government body in Russia is the Federal Assembly - the Parlament of the Russian Federation. The Federal Assembly consists of two chambers - the Council of Federation and the State Duma.
The executive power in the Russian Federation realizes the Government of the Russian Federation. The Government of the Russian Federation consists of the Chairman of the Government, the vice-Chairmen of the Government and the Federal ministers.
