1. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT UNIVERSITY

The university was founded in 1958. Since March, 2005 it has been named "Pacific National University" (PNU).
Presently PNU is one of the largest educational and research centers of the Russian Far East. PNU offers an opportunity to study at any advanced educational programs, such as Bachelor's degree, Bachelor's-Master's degree, and Master's degree programs. The training is carried out in 42 majors for Bachelor's degree, 36 majors for Master's degree, 47 majors for Postgraduate and Doctorate courses. About 20 thousand students are trained at all educational levels.

For more than 20 years, PNU has been training specialists for foreign countries. During this period more than 2500 foreign citizens from the USA, Japan, the Peoples' Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Thailand, India and Vietnam have been trained at the university.

For years of the university existence there have been prepared over 83 thousand specialists for organizations and enterprises of the Far East, Eastern Siberia and Asia Pacific region countries.
At present the structure of PNU includes 12 schools:

Pre-university Training Programs

  1. Preparatory course of the Russian language and the major subjects in humanities, natural sciences, engineering and economics. After the training a student receives PNU Certificate.

  2. Preparation for study at Master's degree and postgraduate courses in humanities, natural sciences, engineering and economics. After the training a student receives PNU Certificate.

Russian Language Programs

The university offers the following Russian language programs to students of various majors, faculty members, businessmen, and everyone, regardless of age and occupation:

  • Program "Russian Language for Everyone"
  • Program "Russian Language for Students-Philologists Studying the Russian Language"
  • Program "Russian Language for Students-Philologists Studying the Russian Literature"
  • Program "Russian Language for Management Personnel and Specialists of Other Majors"
  • Program "Russian Language for Businessmen"
  • Program for Teachers of Russian as a Foreign Language
  • Program to Prepare for the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL)

The programs realize throughout the year, including winter and summer holidays. After the training a student receives PNU Certificate.

3. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

To issue an invitation letter for admission at PNU a student must submit the following documents to the Office for Int'l Educational Programs:

Bachelor's Degree Programs

  • a filled in Application for Admission (an application form is available on the website www.khstu.ru);
  • a copy of the international passport (passport validity must be at least 1 year and 9 months from the date of the beginning of study at PNU);
  • a copy of an educational document with the official transcript;
  • a copy of the Russian translation of an educational document, notarized and legalized in the established order;

Master's Degree Programs

  • a filled in Application for Admission (an application form is available on the website www.khstu.ru);
  • a copy of the international passport (passport validity must be at least 1 year and 9 months from the date of the beginning of study at PNU);
  • a copy of a Bachelor's degree diploma with the official transcript, a copy of a diploma on conferring Bachelor's degree;
  • a copy of the Russian translation of the educational documents, notarized and legalized in the established order.

Postgraduate Programs

  • a filled in Application for Admission (an application form is available on the website www.khstu.ru);
  • a copy of the international passport (passport validity must be at least 1 year and 9 months from the date of arrival at PNU);
  • a copy of a Master's degree diploma with the official transcript, a copy of a diploma on conferring Master's degree;
  • a copy of the Russian translation of the educational documents, notarized and legalized in the established order.

Pre-university Training and Russian Language Programs

  • a filled in Application for Admission (an application form is available on the website www.khstu.ru);
  • a copy of the international passport (passport validity must be at least 1 year and 9 months from the date of the beginning of study at PNU);

To be enrolled at PNU upon arrival in Khabarovsk the following documents must be submitted to office 113 left:

  • original educational documents with official transcripts;
  • the Russian translation of educational documents and official transcripts with a note on the legalization;
  • a Certificate of the Testing Center on passing the state test in the Russian Language;
  • a Medical Certificate, certifying absence of medical contraindications for studying, including results of blood test for Anti-HIV (AIDS) and Syphilis (VDRL), results of Chest X-ray;
  • the Medical Certificate Russian translation, certified by a translator;
  • a copy of an international passport, the Russian entrance visa, and a Migration card;
  • 6 colour photos (3x4 cm).

4. VISA SUPPORT

PNU renders complete visa support. This process includes issuing an invitation letter by the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation, sending the invitation letter to a foreign student's address in his/her country of permanent residence, the student's registration in the Migration Service for the period of his/her stay at PNU.

Within 3 days upon arrival in Khabarovsk a student must submit foreign passport and migration card to office 243 center for registration on the territory of Russia.
